The start of the process of going to university is the same for everyone, applying. All of the applications to UK universities for full time courses are made through a company called, UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). If you are interested in applying to a university for a part-time course you will most likely need to contact the universities individually to find out the best way to apply as this may vary for each university.
In 2006 UCAS moved to all electronic applications, this means to apply to university in the UK you need to do so using the UCAS online application procedure. By working closely with schools, college, public libraries and other agencies it tried to ensure that all applicants have access to its system.
Also on the UCAS website are details of all the courses available so that you can look into them using their site, (but don’t forget the universities own websites as they may be able to offer you more detailed information).
One of the big advantages the UCAS apply system has over the ‘old’ paper application is that it is able to correct many of the common errors students may enter!
